"Children's Education"

Bethesda Ministries, through collaboration with the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, has implemented the county-wide Children Are Safe grant.  The intent of the grant is to serve families with children ages birth to 8 years by: (a) increasing parents/caregivers knowledge of appropriate health and safety measures; (b) helping families who do not have a home safety plan (i.e., fire, hurricane, flooding, etc.) to develop one; and (c) reducing the risks of unintentional injuries.   As result of families participating in this initiative, each family will receive a home safety assessment and plan.  Based on the results of the home safety assessment, families can qualify to receive a fire extinguisher(s) and first aid kit.  Families demonstrating additional safety needs beyond the scope of the grant will be referred to other community agencies.
